Why choose kiln dried oak firewood?
Oak is one of the best-performing firewoods for sustained heat, making it a popular choice for UK households that rely on wood for regular heating. It is the go-to log for long, slow-burning fires. Oak is dense, so it gives a classic low, rolling flame and excellent heat output with fewer refuels – ideal for larger stoves, open fires and all-day or overnight burning. Our oak logs are around 25cm long and 6–16cm in diameter, kiln dried to below 20% moisture, and suit wood burners, stoves, fireplaces, fire pits and chimineas.

How do I light kiln dried oak?
Because oak is dense, it takes a little longer to catch than birch or ash. Start with a base of Ecoblaze Kiln Dried Kindling and Natural Firelighters, let a good flame establish, then add smaller oak logs first and build up to larger ones.
Is your oak firewood Ready to Burn and suitable for Smoke Control Areas?
Yes. All our firewood meets the UK Ready to Burn standard, which means it's dried to below 20% moisture, burns cleaner with less smoke, tar and soot, and complies with UK rules on domestic wood fuel. In a Smoke Control Area, you can burn it in a DEFRA-exempt stove or other approved appliance – always check your appliance manual and local rules.
What crate sizes is kiln dried oak available in?
Kiln Dried Ash comes in three crate sizes. The Full Crate is our most popular choice for regular wood burner users, holding 2.0m³ of loose logs.
